What is agentic co-authoring?
The Agentic Publishing Company uses rafikiAOS - an agentic operating system with hundreds of specialist AI agents - to help write, edit, structure, and produce books. Each book begins with a human vision, proceeds under continuous human direction and editorial review, and ends with human approval at every quality gate.
The AI writes. The human governs. The voice, the values, the judgment of what to include and what to cut, the decision to publish - all of that is human. What the AI provides is speed, breadth, and the ability to work through the night while the author sleeps.
We call this agentic co-authoring. The human directs an AI system the way a conductor directs an orchestra - the music requires both.
The pen name personas
Three books are published under pen names: Elias North, Mira J. Lane, and Nova Wren. These are not real people. They are creative identities - distinct voices with distinct expertise - produced by the agentic OS under human direction and values.
This raises a natural question: who gets the author photo?
We could have generated photorealistic headshots. They would have been convincing. We chose not to - and the image above shows exactly why. A person scrolling past a realistic headshot assumes they are seeing a real person. We do not want that assumption, even if we could legally make it.
Illustrated personas are honest. They say: this is a creative identity, not a human face. The voice is real. The expertise is real. The author is not.
Our disclosure standards
For every book in the library
Writing assistance: Claude by Anthropic. The author directed all research framing, governed every creative decision, and reviewed all content.
Cover images: Generated using OpenAI image generation tools (gpt-image-1 or gpt-image-2 depending on when the book was produced).
Publisher: Independently published through Amazon KDP. Amazon assigns ISBNs and handles distribution.
Human oversight: Every book passed through editorial gates - developmental review, line edit, compliance check, and acceptance panels - before publication.
Why we are telling you this
Truthfulness is not optional
A reader who buys a book deserves to know how it was made. Not buried in a footnote - stated plainly in the front matter and on this page.
Responsible AI means choosing restraint
We can do things with AI that we choose not to do. Photorealistic pen name portraits are one example. The line between capable and responsible is a choice.
This is a proof of concept
The Agentic Systems Library describes how to build and govern agentic AI systems. This campaign and these books were produced by the system the books describe. The proof is the practice.
